Regis College Library Reference Department

Leaving Regis College Library

In Uncategorized on July 25, 2011 at 1:08 pm

Hello everyone.

 My last day here at Regis College Library is August 4, 2011.  I want all of you to know that I have enjoyed the last four years working with the Regis Community as the Library’s Information Service Director.  During my tenure, the Reference Department has seen many changes.  For example, the Reference Department has  taken many of its resources online.  Another example is that we have moved to a larger consortium — Minuteman Library Network — which allows students access to more library materials.

Once again, thank you all for giving me the opportunity to work with you at Regis College and don’t forget to stay tuned for the next exciting chapter in the life of Regis College Library.

Library adds new technology — BookScan Station

In Uncategorized on May 12, 2011 at 10:37 am

Welcome to summer school!  Summer Session I starts this Monday the 16th and already students are in the library studying, trying to get a jump on the session.

We want to take this time to announce a new product/technology.  A BookScan Station can be found in the reference area near the student computers.

The BookScan Station will allow you to scan, save, and even share information from print materials such as text books, books,photos,magazines, and class notes.  Once you scan the print material you want to save/share you can then choose to do the following:

First, turn the material you scan into a JPEG, WORD, PDF or HTML file.  Once that is done, you can do the following:

Print to a local printer;
Email it to yourself and/or others; or
Download it to a USB(flash drive).
You can also share it with others using Facebook, Twitter, and other social media

So come by the library and have a look!

You can get further information by contacting the reference desk at 781-768-7303.
